Abstract
To study the in-situ treatment of acid mine water by bio-cathode permeable reactive barrier MFC based on immobilized sulfate-reducing bacteria,a pilot-scale PRB was conducted to investigate the effects of different pH,HRT and concentrations of heavy metals. The results show that:① pH and HRT have no significant impacts on pH of influ- ent,MFC can still adjust the effluent pH steadily at around 6. 5. ② The removal of heavy metals is removed primarily by MFC area. But heavy metal removal decreased slowly with HRT from 4 days to 2 days. Fe2+ ,Cu2+ ,Zn2+ ,Ni2+ remov- al rate increased from 750 mg / (m3·h) to 1 500 mg / (m3·h),however Mn2+ removal rate is increased from 600 mg /( m3·h) to 1 000 mg / (m3·h). ③ The SO24- removal rate declins with carbon reduction. MFC external voltage varies with the carbon source and the microbial biomass.
