Experimental study and numerical simulation for dynamic response of coal pillars in coal mine underground reservoir

  • As a new underground structure, the coal mine underground reservoir lacks quality indexes to evaluate its seismic resistant performance. To study the seismic performance of coal mine underground reservoirs, the shaking table testes and numerical simulations are designed and processed to analyze its dynamic behaviors and characteristics dur- ing earthquakes. For comparison, the seismic safety of a ground reservoir model in the same condition is studied through shaking table test and numerical simulation. The comparison between the calculated results and those obtained from shaking table tests shows that they are close and definitely verified each other. The comparison between the un- derground reservoir and the ground reservoir shows that their dynamic behaviors and characteristics have significant difference. As the constraint of roof and floor, the underground reservoir comes to a plasticity state significantly later than the ground reservoir in the same condition.
