Abstract
The friction between liner and wire rope is the key to the security and safety work of friction hoist. This pa- per proposed a new measurement about how to study the frictional properties based on the arc method. Friction tests were conducted on a self-made platform to study on the micro-sliding properties between liner and wire rope. By meas- uring the friction and the relative displacement, the stick-slip laws were determined and the variation laws of friction coefficient were studied based on the testing curves. The results show that the friction coefficient of K25 liner under dry friction increases with the decrease of specific pressure, but increases first and then decreases with the rising sliding speed (reaches maximum when sliding speed is 2 mm / s). When there is Koepe oil between liner and wire rope, the friction coefficient decreases with the increase of the specific pressure and the sliding speed. The inverse linear rela- tionship between liner’s friction coefficient and the specific pressure illustrates the friction between two interfaces is mainly adhesive friction. Compared with the plane method, the friction coefficient measured by the arc method is much smaller.
