Test of V shaped groove structure against rockfall based on orthogonal design

  • A lot of studies have been carried out on the rockfall protection in traffic fields. However,there are few stud- ies on the rockfall protection for mine due to frequent engineering disturbance and rock breaking. Usually,safety plat- form and sweeping platform design are adopted to protect rockfall. However,with the increase of mining depth and scale,above methods cannot block the large quantity of rockfalls caused by extension disturbance and the casualties and equipment damage accident occur frequently. In this paper,the footwall slope rockfall protection of Nanfen Open- pit Iron Mine is taken as an example. Firstly,based on orthogonal test principle,it has used Rocfall software to take 3- index 4-factor numerical value simulation test study to the “safety platform rockfall protection measures” and 3-index 5-factor numerical simulation orthogonal test to “designing V-groove rockfall protection measures on safety platform”; then it has taken range analysis to the test results and explored the influence law of all measures and all factors to the motion characteristics of rockfall;lastly,the optimal parameter combination of two methods is determined and the ex- perimental area for field contrast test is selected in Nanfen Open-pit Iron Mine. The test results show that the V-groove structure can effectively protect rockfall,which has provided references for the high and steep slope rockfall protection of open-pit mine.
