Stress analysis of heterogeneous frozen wall considering interaction with surrounding soil

  • In order to describe the mechanical characteristics of frozen wall more reasonably, when it was through the complex soil consolidation, the inhomogeneity of the physical and mechanical parameters of the frozen wall caused by the freezing temperature field was considered, the frozen wall was regarded as heterogeneous material whose properties changed with the radius, according to the distribution law of freezing temperature field.The excavation unloading effect was reflected by the stress transfer coefficient ξn, a mechanical model that can reflect the interaction between the frozen wall and the surrounding soil was established.The analytic solution of stress under elastic condition and elasto-plastic condition, the solution of bearing capacity of frozen wall, were both deduced according to the model.The calculation results showed that the bearing capacity of the frozen wall considering the interaction with the surrounding soil was larger than that without considering the interaction, and the bearing capacity of the homogeneous frozen wall was larger than that of the heterogeneous one.In fact, the frozen wall was a heterogeneous body interacting with the surrounding soil, it could be seen that the mechanical model of heterogeneous frozen wall interacting with the surrounding soil was more close to the actual working conditions, so the calculation results can provide a theoretical basis for the reasonable design of the frozen wall.
