Loading performance of spiral drum based on discrete element method

  • In order to improve the loading performance of thin seam shearer,the discrete element coupling model of the spiral drum and the coal wall is established based on discrete element theory and the determination results of coal sam- ple properties in Ordos Wenyu Coal Mine. The key problems of the model,such as the coupling of spiral drum and coal wall,the setting of the relevant parameters of the particle have been solved. The influence of the drum structure and motion parameters on the coal flow motion distribution is found out through the particle tracking and statistical process of loading coal quality,speed distribution and change. With the increase of helix angle,the loading rate increases first and then decreases,the loading rate increases with the increase of cutting depth and traction speed gradually decrea- ses,increasing the rotational speed of the drum can improve coal loading efficiency,but the increasing rate of coal loading rate tends to be gentle with the drum speed increases.
