Impact characteristics of high-tensile steel chains for mining under the temperature-corrosion area coupling effect

  • In order to study the impact characteristics of the ring chain effected by temperature and corrosion area,a chain model was built to simulate the heavy load launching process of different regions on corroded chain under diverse conditions including different temperatures, different corrosion areas, and temperature-corrosion areas coupling via ABAQUS,and extract the stable values of the impact characteristics. The coherence functions between impact charac-teristics and temperature,impact characteristic and corrosion density were fitted by MATLAB,and also proved by ex-perimental verifications simultaneously. The results showed that the yield strength of the 23MnNiCrMo54 steel de-creased with the temperature increase. In the process of heavy load launching,the maximum stable stress in the corro-sion area No. Ⅲ was higher than that in other areas,and reached a yield state from a larger area. The model fitting by diverse impact characteristics (stable stress,stable friction dissipative energy,plastic dissipative energy,stable intrinsic energy) and temperature and corrosion area coupling was obtained. This method provide a significant parameter-basis for forecasting the service life and optimizing the design of the ring chain.
