Research progress and prospects on the influence of sound waves on the combustion characteristics of coal powder

  • The realization of the “double carbon” goal puts forward higher requirements for the clean and efficient utilization of coal, so it is significant to explore a new clean and efficient combustion technology for pulverized coal. Acoustics, as a basic and cross-cutting discipline, has been closely related to almost all important natural science and engineering technology fields in recent years. The application of acoustic technology in power plant boilers, such as furnace temperature field reconstruction, flow measurement, leak detection, sonic soot cleaning, acoustic agglomeration and other technologies based on acoustic principle, has received extensive attention and research. Also, the research and application of the above acoustic technologies all involve the acoustic physical and chemical effects generated in the process of acoustic wave propagation. The research on the combustion characteristics of coal particles under the action of the sound field has accumulated to a certain extent. Some studies have demonstrated that the physical and chemical effects of acoustic waves, such as acoustic-assisted combustion technology, can provide new technical means for the clean and efficient combustion of coal particles. Acoustic-assisted combustion is a new combustion technology with high efficiency, energy conservation and environmental protection, and has great potential. Therefore, under the high requirements of energy conservation and emission reduction policies, the application, promotion and research of acoustic-assisted combustion technology in coal-fired power plant boilers should be paid enough attention. However, the basic theoretical research on the influence of acoustic wave on pulverized coal particle combustion is inadequate, and the explanation of the mechanism of acoustic wave physical effect is not clear enough. In the existing literature, there is neither a monograph nor a review article on the research of acoustic wave effect on pulverized coal combustion. Given this, the mechanism of acoustic waves affecting pulverized coal combustion is comprehensively introduced in this research review, and the research status of sound wave affecting pulverized coal particle combustion is analyzed and summarized. The research overview clarifies the main technical research routes of the influence of acoustic waves on the combustion characteristics of pulverized coal particles, and helps readers systematically understand the objects, methods, principles and practical applications of acoustic wave combustion support.
